Pre-announcement: 2022 ATTRACT and PEARL Calls

The 2022 ATTRACT and PEARL Calls will be launched in mid August 2021. Interested candidates are encouraged to contact their desired host institution as soon as possible.

Deadline for pre-proposals is 12 November 2021 (ATTRACT) and 12 October 2021 (PEARL).

About ATTRACT

The ATTRACT programme offers promising junior researchers from abroad (between 2 and 8 years after their PhD) the opportunity to set up their own research team in Luxembourg within one of the country’s research priorities.

Funding: 1.5-2 MEUR over 5 yrs, 1-2 grants/yr

About PEARL

With the PEARL programme, the FNR offers Luxembourg research institutions the possibility to attract leading researchers from abroad to Luxembourg in view of developing and strengthening research capacity in the country’s key strategic areas.

Funding: 3-4 MEUR over 5 yrs, 1-2 grants/yr

Both ATTRACT and PEARL align to the national research priorities.

Prior to submitting an application, ATTRACT and PEARL candidates need to undergo an institutional validation process. Interested candidates are therefore invited to contact potential host institutions in Luxembourg as early as possible (at least 8 months prior to deadline) to allow sufficient time for institutional validation of their candidature.
