The FNR is pleased to inform that COST has decided to support 40 new Actions in all fields of science and research. COST Actions are networks of researchers all over Europe and abroad. Anyone interested in taking part in an Action should register their interest as soon as possible.
40 new COST actions have been selected – two with Luxembourg participation (Luxembourg Institute of Health and the University of Luxembourg). The new actions will start in Spring 2019.
35% of the 40 network proposals cover at least two OECD fields of science and technology, while 7% cover at least three fields.
Natural sciences lead the way as the most represented field of science (40% of the Actions), followed by medical and health sciences (28%), engineering and technology (28%), social sciences (23%), humanities (20%) and agricultural sciences (5%).
Luxembourg researchers are strongly encouraged to join the networks. For each action, two researchers can be nominated per country. In order to be nominated, please provide the CNC (COST National Coordinator), Helena Burg, with the completed ‘COST action form’.

Travel costs to the COST action meetings will be covered by COST.
About COST
Each COST Action is a bottom-up science and technology network in fields that are of interest to at least five COST countries with a duration of four years. COST provides the COST Actions with financial support for joint activities, such as workshops, conferences, short-term scientific exchanges, training schools, and publications. Each COST Actions has an objective, defined goals and clear deliverables. COST Actions have located their topic into one of COST’s scientific Domains. Please note that COST does not fund research itself.
