This measure serves to provide support for researchers who have fled the war in Ukraine. These persons should be employed at Luxembourg public research institutions in ongoing FNR projects for a maximum of 6 months based on requests for additional funding. Requests for additional funding are accepted continuously until 28 November 2022.
This measure is an add-on to ongoing approved projects in the following funding schemes: CORE, INTER, OPEN, ATTRACT, PEARL, BRIDGES, PRIDE, IPBG – new: Now also applicable to active KITS projects as well as PSP-Flagship projects. Non-eligible funding schemes: AFR, Industrial Fellowship, RESCOM, INTER Mobility, JUMP.
Target group
Researchers, including technical personnel
- Displaced persons benefiting from the Temporary protection status applied at EU level for people who have fled the war in Ukraine[1]
- Maximum number of positions per FNR project: 1 full-time or 2 half-time positions
- Maximum duration of employment: 6 months FTE (1 full-time or 2 half-time positions)
- Costs covered by FNR: Salary costs for up to 6 months, travel lump sum
Eligible funding schemes
FNR funding schemes that include the option of funding project personnel (i.e. CORE, INTER, OPEN, ATTRACT, PEARL, BRIDGES, PRIDE, IPBG, PSP-Flagship, KITS) with a remaining project duration of at least 6 months.
Non-eligible funding schemes: AFR, Industrial Fellowship, RESCOM, INTER Mobility, JUMP
Application documents
- Free-form explanation of research content, including a description of the tasks within the project of the FNR funded project and how the proposed scientist’s competences will match these (max. 1 page)
- Requested costs as per FNR standards indicated in the FNR financial regulations
- Free-form CV(s) of the person(s) to be employed
- Letter of Intent; to be signed by the Host Institutions and the PI, possibly including a short description of additional measures that the Host institution has put in place to support the researcher
- Temporary protection status must be confirmed at the time of employment contract start
Proposals must be submitted via email (Josiane.Staus@fnr.lu) by the PI of the ongoing FNR funded project.
Requests for additional funding are accepted continuously until 28 November 2022.
The FNR will check all applications received carefully with the aim of swiftly providing flexible and unbureaucratic support where needed.
