An online ELIXIR-LU course on ‘Best practices in research data management and stewardship’ is now open for registration. The course takes place from 14 – 17 June 2021. The course is aimed at researchers, data stewards in the biomedical sciences who wish to improve their skills on data management.
In addition to lectures, the workshop includes several hands-on practicals, all following one example research data management scenario. Phd students will be awarded with 1 ECTS upon successful completion of the training.

The workshop is organised by Elixir Luxembourg (ELIXIR-LU) a Luxembourgish node within the European infrastructure.
ELIXIR-LU is based at the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) of the University of Luxembourg. ELIXIR-LU is the Node for Translational Medicine data, i.e. integrated molecular and clinical data. It aims to meet with the increasing demand for IT services in biology and medicine, and interface with both the pharmaceutical industry and the clinical healthcare.
In research projects all over Europe, valuable data are generated but usually remain local and lack a broader use. ELIXIR, the European infrastructure for life science information, aims to provide access to this wealth of bioinformatics tools and biological data. It creates sustainability through long-term data-storage and databases. ELIXIR offers the possibility to archive, integrate, analyse and exploit the large and heterogeneous data sets of modern life science research beyond the life-time of individual research projects.
