Think Outside ! This project aims to stimulate students to develop creative solutions for a zero waste lifestyle… aboard a sailing ship. Not only will their results be integrated in an upcoming luxembourgish scientific sailing expedition to the Arctic, but the students themselves will contribute in promoting the outcomes of their research to a broader public. The framework is given by the regatta.lu – sailing schools 2019 in Brittany (F), where high-school students will work on a daily basis on the plastic and waste pollution during their free time. A subgroup of them will video-document the whole endeavour which will be promoted amongst others on the Y4P platform. Back in Luxembourg they will share their newly acquainted knowledge with : (1) other high-school students (LGE and LJBM will be offering Zero Waste Courses where the students will be invited to); and (2) the general public during a special event hosted by the MNHN (students will showcase their video and results of their research through workshops that they lead!). Other Zero Waste outreach activities are already being organized i.e. by Manukultura asbl, and the results of this project will fuel and contribute to those workshops as well.
