Submitted Abstract
There is a large and vibrant community in Luxembourg interested in the field of “Infection and Immunity”. Yet, currrently there are no regular lectures in that field in our country. The present application plans to organise a series of lectures in 2014 (i.e.9 monthly events) inviting internationally renowned scientists to Luxembourg. Each event will consist of a public lecture focusing on innovative and emerging aspects of a topic, followed the next day by a “PhD student workshop” with the expert in order to discuss in deeper details the topic and address also career development issues. The expert will also have the opportunity to meet informally principal investigators and head of units during their stay. We expect that this series of lectures will strengthen the scientific community in the field of “Infection and Immunity” and will help them to clearer define research opportunities and collaborations at an international level.
