Submitted Abstract

The Engineering Design and Methodology Group at the University of Luxembourg is organizing an international exploratory workshop on “The Future of Transdisciplinary Design” (TFTD13). The workshop aims to share, discuss, project and disseminate the multidimensional nature of issues and problems in transdisciplinary product and service design from the perspective of Processes, People and Products. TFTD13 will provide established researchers and experts in the field of engineering design and product development a platform to present their ideas and mature research addressing the main issues pertaining to The Future of the Transdisciplinary Design. The workshop will focus on six main areas in transdisciplinary design i.e.:•Approaches•Tools and methods•Management and collaboration•Distributed and culturally diverse teams•Modelling, representing and managing information•Education and trainingThe workshop is endorsed by the Design Society which is the leading international non-governmental, non-profit making organisation whose members share a common interest in design. It strives to contribute to a broad and established understanding of all aspects of development and design, and to promote the use of results and knowledge for the good of humanity. The workshop is a double-blind peer reviewed event in which the researchers and experts will submit full papers.
