Submitted Abstract

The publication is a collection of scientific articles of the participants of the international, multidisciplinary workshop “International Regulations of Space Communications: Current Issues” which took place in Luxembourg in May 2012. The subject of the workshop and the book was selected because of numerous important international developments in the sphere of space communications, especially those adopted by the 2012 World Radio Conference, but also with regard to the discrepancy between the crucial role of space communications not only in Luxembourg, but on the international level, and many open questions which the academia leaves for scientific research in this sphere. The workshop has confirmed the scientific potential of the area of satellite communications and its regulatory framework and its availability for multidisciplinary international research. It aims at being a starting point for future research projects such as “Communication in 3rd Millennium” which has been submitted in the framework of the University of Luxembourg for the period 2014-2018.
