Girls in ICT Day, an initiative backed by all ITU Member States in ITU Plenipotentiary Resolution 70 (Rev. Busan, 2014), aims to create a global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider car¿eers in the growing field of ICTs, enabling both girls and technology companies to reap the benefits of greater female participation in the ICT sector. International Girls in ICT Day is celebrated on the 4th Thursday in April every year.¿¿¿¿¿¿Girls in ICT day will officially happening for the first time in Luxembourg in 2018 and consist of two parts:- Afternoon activities for young girls in secondary schools to trigger their interest in computer science- Evening event open to the general public to give visibility to women computer scientists and ICT practitioners, raise awareness around opportunities for women in ICT & science and inspire girls (and women) to pursue careers in this field.This project aims to become a successful example in how to involve secondary school students, teachers, educators, researchers and industry professionals, both women & men and to create a sustainable network
