Submitted Abstract
With the growing concerns about data protection and privacy, it is increasingly important to be able to systematically assess compliance with the relevant laws and regulations. In Europe, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is now the benchmark for data protection and privacy. The ARTAGO project seeks to develop industrially applicable solutions for the computer-assisted assessment of GDPR compliance. The project will pursue three main thrusts: (1) Artificial Intelligence-enabled information extraction from legal documents, (2) precise and machine-analyzable specification of GDPR compliance criteria, and (3) rule-based compliance checking. ARTAGO will produce key academic advances in the field of legal compliance and at the same time bring about major valorization opportunities. ARTAGO will be a collaboration between the University of Luxembourg’s SnT Centre and Linklaters – a global law firm with a large base in Luxembourg.
