Luxembourg March for Science 22 April

On Saturday, 22 April 2017, the Luxembourg March for Science will take place to acknowledge the critical role that science plays in politics and society. The Luxembourg gathering takes place on the Place Clairefontaine in Luxembourg City between 14:00 – 16:00.

What is the March for Science?

The March for Science is an celebration of science. It has been organised as a response to the various restrictions science is facing in several countries in the world, as well as in response to policies that ignore scientific evidence.

The main March for Science takes place in Washington DC, with over 500 other satellite marches taking place in cities across the world, such as Luxembourg City.

Among many, EU Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation Carlos Moedas, as well as Jean-Pierre Bourguignon, President of the European Research Council have voiced support for the March for Science. Martin Stratmann, the President of the Max Planck Society, will be taking part in the March for Science in Munich.

The Luxembourg March for Science is organised by Women’s March Luxembourg.
