Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting 2015 – 2 young researchers from Luxembourg among the selected candidates

The FNR is pleased to announce that 2 young promising researchers from Luxembourg have been selected by the Lindau Selection Committee to participate at the renowned annual Meeting of Nobel Laureates which takes place from 28 June – 3 July 2015 in Lindau.

The 2015 Lindau Meeting is an Interdisciplinary Meeting dedicated to Physics, Chemistry, Physiology/Medicine and related disciplines. For this occasion, ca. 70 Nobel Laureates from across the above Nobel disciplines congregate in Lindau to meet 672 young excellent researchers from 88 countries.

The 2 candidates from Luxembourg, who successfully passed a multi-step international selection process (incl. a pre-selection by the FNR), are:

  • Dr Enrico Glaab, postdoc fellow at the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB), who develops bioinformatics and machine learning approaches to analyse disease-related biological data, focusing on the neurodegenerative disorders Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease
  • Charles de Bourcy, PhD candidate at Stanford University (US), whose research topic is “High-throughput analysis of human adaptive immune repertoires and immunosenescence”

Their participation will be funded by the FNR.

Please note: The 2016 edition of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting is dedicated to Physics and takes place from 26 June – 1 July 2016. The call for candidates will be launched by the FNR in autumn 2015.
