The FNR’s innovation programmes KITS and PoC are open for the submission of proposals. Both programmes have a deadline of Thursday, 3 November, 14:00 CET.
About Proof of Concept (PoC)
PoC is the FNR’s facilitation programme for successful commercialisation of research results. With the goal of encouraging the translation of high impact research into commercially viable innovations, the PoC programme provides financial support to universities and research institutes in Luxembourg, to help them make their research ideas more attractive to potential investors.
Notable projects who have previously received PoC funding include:
- HuMiX, the ‘human microbiome on a chip’ (LCSB, University of Luxembourg), a project led by former FNR ATTRACT Fellow Dr. Paul Wilmes.
- ProCrob (LuxAI), a socially assistive robot (SnT, University of Luxembourg). LuxAI won the 2016 Mind & Market Forum.
- Motion-S, a (University of Luxembourg) start-up built around a mobile application that collects information about driving styles, helping drivers to be safer on the road. Motion-S won the 2015 Mind & Market Forum.
About Knowledge & Innovation Transfer Support (KITS)
The objective of the KITS is to provide competitive funding to public research institutions in Luxembourg that will allow them to attract and integrate highly skilled professionals in the area of knowledge transfer.
