On 7 October, a delegation headed by Dr. Marc Schiltz, Secretary General of the FNR, and Professor Gabriel Crean, CEO of the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), visited the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) forum in Tokyo, Japan.

NIMS is a Japanese National Research and Development Agency specialized in basic research and development in the field of materials science with a total staff of more than 1500 persons.

During this visit, the Luxembourg delegation met with the President Sukekatsu Ushioda and the Deputy General Manager Dr Johsei Nagakawa, to discuss potential areas of cooperation between NIMS and LIST. A first step will be a joint symposium of researchers from Luxembourg and Japan to be held in 2016. More information will be published on the FNR website in due course.
