The FNR this week had the privilege to receive Professor Jiunn-Der Liao, Counsellor for Science and Technology at the Taiwan Representative Office in the European Union, as part of his visit to the Grand Duchy.
Alongside representatives from Luxinnovation and Luxembourg’s Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR), the FNR had the opportunity to provide Professor Liao – adistinguished Professor and researcher – with an overview of Luxembourg’s expanding science activities, both in the public and private sector.
The high-profile visit allowed for a showcase of Luxembourg as an innovation hub in Europe, helping to raise Luxembourg’s research profile in Taiwan.
The visit entailed a tour of Belval Research and Innovation Campus – soon to be the new location of the FNR’s office – and a visit to the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST).
Professor Liao’s visit complemented the FNR’s visit to Taiwan in June this year and provided a further opportunity to discuss potential areas of future cooperation.
