cOAlition S releases Journal Checker Tool

cOAlition S, an international consortium of research funders has developed the Journal Checker Tool (JCT), a web-based tool which provides clear advice to researchers on how they can comply with their funder’s Plan S-aligned Open Access policy when seeking to publish in their chosen journal.

The FNR is part of cOAlition S, an international consortium of research funders including the European Commission, the World Health Organization, the Wellcome Trust, Howard Hughes Medical Institutes, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and a significant number of National Research Funders that will jointly apply Open Access policies embodied in the Plan S principles, starting from 2021.

cOAlition S has now developed the Journal Checker Tool (JCT), a web-based tool which provides clear advice to researchers on how they can comply with their funder’s Plan S-aligned Open Access policy when seeking to publish in their chosen journal. A beta version of the JCT has been released. During this open testing phase, the community will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the JCT and provide feedback, so that the tool increases its readiness ahead of the implementation of Plan S in January 2021.
