The Science Festival returns on Saturday, 13 and Sunday, 14 November 2021, offering a range of of science shows and workshops to fascinate every curious spirit from 3-99 years old. Please note, at this year’s Science Festival prior registration is required.
With an average of 12,000 visitors, the Science Festival is a success every time! This year, the Science Festival opens its doors again. This year’s edition will take place as a Covid-Check event at the Centre culturel de rencontre Abbaye de Neumünster and the Musée national d’histoire naturelle in Luxembourg-Grund.
During four days, researchers, science communicators and the public will have the opportunity to communicate, experiment and have fun together. The first two days (11-12 November) are reserved exclusively for school classes. Then, on the weekend (13-14 November), the Science Festival opens its doors to everyone.
Around 40 activities on offer
The Science Festival will offer a colourful potpourri of workshops and shows from a wide range of scientific fields: Learn about plastic pollution in the ocean, decode DNA, make your own vaccine, build a dinosaur skeleton (with real bones) or take part in spectacular experimental shows! Everyone should find something to their liking here. Maybe we’ll even make you float.
Registration required
Due to the current situation, this year’s edition of the Science Festival will take place under the Covid Check regime. This means that families and individual visitors must register in advance and present their CovidCheck certificate (vaccinated, recovered, or tested). Prior registration is required for one of the two time slots (9:00-13:30 or 14:30-19:00).
Location
The 2021 edition of Science Festival will be held at the Centre culturel de rencontre Abbaye de Neumünster and the Musée national d’histoire naturelle, in Luxembourg-Grund.
Please notice that rue Münster and rue de Trêves will be closed for the whole weekend of Science Festival.

About the Science Festival
The Science Festival is organised by the National Museum of Natural History (natur musée – MNHN) and the FNR. The aim of the Science Festival is to connect science and society.
Since its first edition in the cultural year 1995, the Science Festival has established itself as the outstanding event in the field of promoting science education in Luxembourg. The success with the public underlines this statement. Numerous public and private research institutes, various associations and many volunteers participate in the organization of the Science Festival.
